How to Manually Update Galaxy Core Prime to Android 5.0.2 XXU1BOD9 Lollipop OS
- As mentioned already, on your computer download and install the required files; thus, download Odin, Samsung KIES and the firmware file (you can get the update package from SamMobile).
- Install Odin and Samsung KIES and unzip the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware file on desktop.
- Use Samsung KIES and install the Galaxy Core Prime USB drivers on your computer.
- Next, turn off your phone, wait a few seconds and then reboot it into download mode: press and hole power, volume down and home buttons at the same time.
- Run Odin on your computer and then establish a connection between your Prime and your PC.
- Once you complete these steps, on the program you will see the “added” message displayed – the ID:COM field will be either yellow or blue.
- Now, select the PA option from Odin and load the Android 5.0.2 XXU1BOD9 Lollipop OS.
- Resume the update process by clicking on “start”.
- When done, on the program the “pass” message will be displayed – also, the ID:COM field will be now green.
- You can unplug the USB cable and reboot your Galaxy Core Prime into Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS.
Do note that Odin might get stuck during the update process. If that happens, then you have to close the program and disconnect your device. Also, you will have to force restart your smartphone and to install the Core Prime USB drivers on your computer. Finally, you need to retry the steps from above.
A similar problem might refer to a boot loop. Well, if that happens, just enter recovery mode on your Android device and from the recovery mode menu select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. When done, go back to Android OS by choosing “reboot system now”.
